Where List2u Came From and Why It Still Matters
List2u was built in Tempe, Arizona in 1998 at a moment when the internet was just beginning to show up in the marketing strategies of healthcare organizations, education programs, technology and professional service businesses. The founders recognized early what most marketing firms would take another decade to understand: digital visibility and referral networks were not separate strategies. They were the same problem, a market architecture problem.
The early work was unglamorous. Building web presences for clinics that had never had one. Structuring referral outreach for healthcare networks that were still operating entirely by word-of-mouth. Writing content that answered the actual questions patients, students and clients were asking, not the questions their organizations assumed they were asking.
